UK Rail Refund Form

This form can only be used for claiming refunds on train tickets in the UK. For all other travel companies, please refer to the GoEuro cancellation page.

Can I cancel my ticket?

‘Advance’ fare tickets are not refundable.
‘Off-peak’, ‘Super Off-peak’ and ‘Anytime’ tickets can be cancelled and refunded.

Can I change my ticket?

UK rail tickets can be exchanged by cancelling your original booking and purchasing replacement tickets.

Advance Fare: You will need to purchase replacement tickets first and then provide evidence of your new booking by selecting the relevant box on the refund form. This is because ‘Advance’ fare tickets can only be exchanged and do not allow for outright cancellation. Only the time and date of your journey can be changed, the route must stay the same.

Off-Peak’, ‘Super Off-Peak’ and ‘Anytime Fares’: You will need to cancel these tickets and book replacement tickets. As these tickets are refundable, we do not require any evidence of a new booking to process your refund.

Is there a fee charged for a change or cancellation?

All changes and cancellations are subject to an industry standard ₤10 administration fee.

Is it possible to change or cancel only part of my journey?

In order to change or cancel one part of your journey, you will need to print out the full booking at the station and then post the tickets you do not want to keep to our refund office. Because of this, it's generally easier to change or refund your entire booking, which does not require any posting if your original tickets have not been printed.

Please be aware that some return ticket offers include a ticket with a much lower value and once the price of a single journey and the £10 administration fee are deducted there may be no amount left to refund.

How long do I have to cancel or change my ticket?

In order to make a change or claim a refund, the online refund application form needs to be completed within 28 days of your original travel date.

I have already collected my tickets from the station, what are my options?

In order for us retrieve your refund from the train company, your physical tickets must be examined to make sure they haven’t been used. You will need to post your unused tickets along with your refund application to the address of our refund office, which is listed on the refund form.

How long will it take until I receive my refund?

Refunds require 28 working days to process and it may take a further five days for any credit to appear in your account.

How do I claim compensation for a delay or cancellation?

In the event that your train was delayed or cancelled and you still travelled and used your tickets, then claims for compensation must be taken up directly with the train company. You can find your train company on your GoEuro ticket voucher.

In the event that your train was delayed or cancelled and you opted not to travel, then you can apply for a refund from GoEuro using the online refund application form - the tickets must be unused. When making your claim you will need to provide us with evidence from the Train Operating Company confirming the delay or cancellation.
